Pumpkin Pie with Decorative Pie Crust

Thanksgiving is near and I always make several pumpkin pies using this recipe. I add one more teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice to the pie filling to make it more flavorful. It always turns out so delicious. This pie is simply irresistible! You have to try it out!

For the crust I use Pillsbury Pie Crust which comes with two crusts in one package. I use one crust for the pie and the other for the decorative pie crust leaves.  For the leaves I was inspired by Julie's Pie Crust Designs . Those pie crust edges are so beautiful that I had to try it out myself :)

Place the first pie crust into a glass pie pan. Use the second pie crust to cut out the leaves with a oak leaf cookie cutter or any other type of leaf cookie cutters ( I removed the leaf stalks). Then, with a sharp knife, carefully score leaf veins on top of each leaf, but not trough. Gently press the leaf ends into the dough to secure them and overlap each one of them piece by piece.

Now just follow the recipe and fill the crust with the pumpkin pie filling and bake it. Remember when you first bake it for 15 minutes, like in the recipe, cover the edges with aluminum foil or use a pie crust shield to keep them from burning. Then take the foil or shield off when you reduce the heat and bake it for 35-40 minutes.

And Voilà a tasty pumpkin pie!

Knit sweaters like this one from Oasap in the pictures above are definitely a must have essential in your wardrobe during the cold days of fall and winter season. Nowadays there are so many various knit sweaters out there, hence, when you pick one, it should be cozy and comfortable, not scratchy and of course it should keep you warm.

What I love about this sweater is that this one has like these cool zipper details on each sleeve which makes it look edgy and the big turtle neck that can keep your neck and ear lobes warm.  I wore this knitted garment with high waist jeans and a fur vest.

I remember in my teenage times classmates in school made fun of me wearing a poncho. The knit poncho that I wore was beautiful and colorful with pink, brown and white stripes. Back then no one there really wore something like this . It was all about wearing the most popular brand and the same exact clothing piece, like certain type of shoes, shirts, and jeans that everyone else was wearing just to fit in. I found it kind of boring. I wanted to wear something that i like, love, and feel comfortable in.

If someone is ever making fun of the clothes you are wearing that you love and it is not the same brand or clothing piece what they are wearing, please ignore them or let them say what they want… Wear what you love and not what they love or want you to wear.
